LBHS provides acute and residential services to children, adolescents and young adults.
Lakeland Behavioral Health Systems provides acute and residential services to children, adolescents and young adults. The inpatient side has 66 beds and consists of 3 different units with the ability to provide services to children and adolescents from age 4-17. This is considered short term treatment with the goal of addressing the crisis, increase the level of stability and return the child/adolescent to the least restricitve environment. Average length of stay can vary from a few days to a few weeks depending on severity.
Residental treatment is more long term. Residents who are admitted to Lakeland’s Residential Treatment Program require more intensive services than found in outpatient services and/or longer term treatment that acute care settings provide. Length of stay ranges from 3 months to over a year depending on severity. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Behavioral Therapy are typically used to address ongoing issues. Family involvement is very important and the overall goal is to reuinite the resident with their family post discharge.
